A Workshop in Painting an Authentic Byzantine Icon
Next workshop: May 2011 ….
The workshop lasts seven full intensive days and includes several lectures on the theology and history of the icon.
The student will complete one icon (board preparation, gesso, egg-tempera paint, gilding) in the course of the class. The workshop is limited to 15 students.
Most materials provided. No experience necessary.
Our instructor is master iconographer Heather McKean.
